Biodynamic Seminar - January 20-21

On January 20 and 21st, we are honored to host a Seminar on Biodynamic Agricultural Practices presented by Dennis Klocek, one of the leading educators and researchers in the field of Biodynamics. The workshop will address the practices of Biodynamic agriculture, the nature and role of Biodynamic Preparations and the alchemical four elements theory in the practice of Biodynamics.

Friday, January 20th: 6pm - 8pm - Welcome and Introduction to the Four Elements Theory.

Saturday, January 21st: 9am - 2pm - The Alchemical Processes of Sal and Sulf, Signatures of Form and Process in Nature, Nature Dynamics revealed in Planetary Time Events, Closing. (Lunch will be provided.)

ABOUT DENNIS

Dennis Klocek is an artist, scientist, teacher, researcher, gardener, and alchemist. After graduating with a MFA in 1975 from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art with a thesis on Goethe’s color theory, he taught for seven years at a community college.

In 1982, his love for the work of Rudolf Steiner took him to Rudolf Steiner College in Sacramento, California, where he has been the director of their Consciousness Studies Program (”Goethean Studies”) since 1992. Dennis is engaged in research, teaching, and writing in many fields, including weather, gardening, color therapy, meditation and the human organism, embryology, and sensory transformation.

He is the author of Bio-Dynamic Book of Moons, Weather and Cosmology, Drawing from the Book of Nature, Seeking Spirit Vision, and The Seer’s Handbook: A Guide To Higher Perception. Dennis also publishes a website, DocWeather.com, “a unique website that is based on a climatic technique that interfaces daily weather data from the National Weather Service into a geometrical system that is the result of twenty-four years of experimental work.”

ABOUT BIODYNAMICS

"Biodynamic® agriculture is a philosophy and methodology that views a farm as a self-sustaining ecosystem entirely responsible for creating and maintaining its individual health and vitality without any external and unnatural additions. The standards for a Demeter Certified Biodynamic farm are quite rigorous, including the organic certification prohibitions against the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, and going much further to include a biodiversity set aside of 10% of total land, on-farm fertility and pest control, rigorous processing standards that emphasize minimal product manipulation, and most importantly whole farm certification (versus a particular crop or area allowed in organic certification). It is one of the most sustainable forms of agriculture, creating healthier food for healthier people and a healthier planet." -- Demeter USA.
